Moreton Bay

The Moreton Bay region is located approximately 14 kilometers north of Central Brisbane, covering over 2000 square kilometers it is the 3rd largest local government area in Australia behind City of Brisbane and City of Gold Coast.

The traditional owners and custodians of the land are the Quandamooka people of the Moreton Bay area, the Ningy Ningy people of the Redcliffe peninsula, the Djindubari people of Bribie Island, the Jinibara people of the Woodford area, the Garumngar people of the D’Aguliar Range, the Turrbal people of North Pine River, and the Kabi people of Caboolture.

Moreton Bay is an important coastal resource, home to protected wetlands, mudflats and waterways abundant with wildlife.
