Plug In Online Music Mentorship Goes Live!

 

Young emerging musicians from South East Queensland North (SEQN) have now been selected to take part in PLUG IN Music Mentorship.

PLUG IN provides emerging musicians (up to 25 years) access to tailored creative and industry development facilitated by leading music professionals, venues, festivals and industry organisations.

Young musicians will be immersed in a six week-long program of one-on-one and small group workshops tailored towards the specific area of interest of the participants. One-on-one sessions include songwriting, vocal and instrumental development, stagecraft and performance.  Emerging musicians will also engage in weekly small group workshops focusing on the business of being a musician led by music industry professionals.

Amy-Kate Bryant, musician in her own right, as well as former Plug In mentor, will lead the program that will see the selected music acts linked to local mentors weekly for six weeks to support professional development in areas of performance, stagecraft, personal marketing, recording, vocal/instrumental training and establishing industry network links.

The line up of mentors is an impressive one, including the likes of Jason Fischera, who started record label JF Records, Andrea Smith, artist mentor and owner of Applause Genie), Ande Foster, music and media producer (soundhive), Lincoln Savage, founder of  Yonder Festival and Brisbane Street Art Estival, Melissa O’Bryan, venue booker at Sol Bar, as well as artists Izzy La Mac, Jimmy DavisOh Harlow, and Alisha Todd.

Plug In is an initiative of Creative Arts Alliance developed in consultation with members of SEQN Music Industry Network. Plug In is delivered as part of our Regional Arts Services Network (RASN) program funded by Arts Queensland and with project funding from Gympie Regional Council, Moreton Bay Regional Council and Noosa Council.
