About Plug In Mentorship Program

The Plug In Music Mentorship program is a new initiative delivered through a partnership between Creative Arts Alliance, Gympie Regional Council and Sugar Rush Music. Plug In offers career development opportunities to four emerging musicians aged 16-30 years in the Gympie Region in 2019/2020 over a six month period. The four successful applicants will gain access to mentorship, professional and creative development and performance opportunities to propel them to the next stage of their music careers.

Selected participants will be supported through:

  • The development of an individual Music Action Plan
  • Funding of $1000 per person to support key goals within their devised action plan – which can include marketing, design, recording or creation of a film clip
  • Access to a network of local and state providers that participants can collaborate with on achieving their goal within their action plan (graphic artists, film-makers, and online content specialists, sound engineers, songwriters)
  • Industry mentors committed to the career development of the artist.
  • Development of an engaging press kit and social media marketing planning.
  • Demo recording and mastering.
  • Performance opportunity as part of a new monthly Live and Local series at the Gympie Civic Centre.
