Keep Creative Moreton Bay School Holiday Program

 

Join us for a series of online and at home creative activities as part of our Keep Creative Moreton Bay School Holiday program.

Register for one of the workshops below – receive your art materials in the post and then join our Arts Facilitators online to complete the workshop activities. Participants will photograph their completed craft / artworks and submit these to be part of our online gallery.

Send a Little Happiness Card Making Workshop (5-8 year olds)

Do you have someone you miss or haven’t been able to see lately? Why don’t you “send them a little happiness” by creating a beautiful hand made card?
As part of this activity our little participants will be posted a card making kit containing fun die-cut shapes, coloured backgrounds and hand stamped messages to inspire them to collage, draw, paint and create your own colourful greeting card. (All you need is your own pencils and pens.)
Join our Workshop Artist and other young participants online to make your cards together. When you’re finished take a photo of your creation for our online gallery and then post your completed card to your loved one.
How do I participate in Send a little happiness ?
Send a little happiness workshops are for children aged 5-8 years and their adults that live in the Moreton Bay region.
STEP 1 – Register online via eventbrite event HERE 
STEP 2 – A workshop kit with materials will be sent to you in the post
STEP 3 – Download Zoom app onto your phone or computer (we will send you an email about this)
STEP 4 – Join our Artist Marian to participate in the online workshops through out the June/ July Holidays
STEP 5 – Send us a picture of your finished Card to include in our online gallery
STEP 6 – Included in your kit, are matching envelopes and postage stamps so you can ‘Send a little happiness’ to your family and friend.
If you miss the online workshop you can download the instructions Send A Little Happiness Instructions complete the activity on your own and send us your photos when you are done. 

Inner Hero Badge Making Workshop  (8-12 year olds)

We are looking for Moreton Bay children who have a hero inside of them just waiting to come out!
As part of an online workshop you will be guided to talk about heroes – those from your favourite movies and stories but also everyday heros too. Why do we admire them? What makes a hero super? What do you have in common with your hero? What awesome qualities and strengths do you have inside yourself that you can call on when times are tough for you or others. It’s a great chance to connect to other young heroes too.
 
The fun part – making your super hero badge!
Through the online workshop you will be guided to design your own hero logo which reflects your unique powers. Then using the materials provided in your workshop kit, as well as your colouring pens, you will make your own Hero Badge.

STEP 3 – Download Zoom app onto your phone or computer (we will send you an email about this)
STEP 4 – Join our Craft Connect Artist Jennis to participate in the online workshops through out the June/ July Holidays
STEP 5 – Send us a picture of your finished Hero Badge to include in our online gallery

Zine Making Workshop (12-17 year olds) 

Join us for this fun hands-on workshop and make your very own zine using tools found around the house. Before you could self-publish on the internet or word-processing there were zines – small, boutique, hand-made and photocopied publications. Learn more about this craft with artist and trouble maker Jeremy Staples.The Zine Workshop will teach participants how to make their own zine using DIY materials found around the home and a variety of analogue creative tools. Each participant will walk away with your very own zine, backed up with an understanding of what a zine is and how to distribute and publish them.

Keep Creative is open to residents of Moreton Bay.  Families can register for up to 3 workshop kits per household.
Keep Creative Moreton Bay is an initiative of Creative Arts Alliance delivered with support from Moreton Bay Regional Council and as part of the Regional Arts Services Network.
These and other workshops can be provided for to larger community or school groups as part of a fee-for-service model.
