Floating Land | Noosa | Wrap UpPosted 04 Nov 2019 by CA Admin
CAA was thrilled to be a partner in the delivery of Floating Land Biennale for 2019 which took place between 12 – 27 October across the Noosa local government area.
- Co-commissioned a new series of Travelling Colony artworks by Brook Andrew
“For two decades this celebrated artist has been creating astonishing interventions into history through installation and interactive monuments, playfully seducing audiences into new ways of seeing compelling issues of race, consumerism and history. Inspired by his Wiradjuri tradition, the circus and pop culture, here he creates a cavalcade of dazzling hand-painted caravans” (Reference – https://carriageworks.com.au/events/travelling-colony/)
- Engaged Bla klash to engage with local First Nations communities and work together to realise Andrew’s designs through a series of community painting days.
- Supported First Nations activation in and around the artworks during Floating Land including by Digi Youth Arts, who were engaged to deliver a public performance.
- Partnered with Noosa Regional Gallery and Sunshine Coast Creative Alliance to deliver a two-day professional development program.
