Get Creative in Caboolture!
Local creatives, community members and visitors of all ages are invited to join us and our partners Moreton Bay Regional Council for the Summer Family Fun Day being held at Caboolture Hub from 9am – 5pm on Saturday 6th February.
The program is jam packed of activities, exhibitions, entertainment and artists talks:
9am – 11am Sacred Geometry Chalk Drawing

10-10.30 Storytime
An interactive session where Caboolture Library storytellers share the magic of picture book stories, action rhymes and songs.
10am – 11.30am Sing for Joy

10am – 12pm Stick Together workshop with Mel Brady
Join Stick Together artist Mel Brady for this free, drop-in weaving workshop for all ages. Stick Together was created to help communities stay connected and creative during COVID closures in 2020. More than 400 individual weavings have now been created with community members and you can add your creation to this growing collaborative installation.

Drop-in to enjoy a range of hands-on art-making activities encouraging us to reflect on climate change and the environment.

11am – 12pm Hub Gallery Exhibition Opening – Ancient. Timeless. Enduring.
Wendy Lageman aims to capture space, time and nature’s energy in her work. She uses emotive colour, layering paint thickly, embedding and layering any textural material, natural or otherwise to captures her response to nature.

11.30am – 12.00pm: Artist Guided tour of Caboolture Regional Gallery Exhibitions with Janice Peacock
11.30am – 1.30pm Young Mic
Young Mic is a free open mic event where young musicians up to 18 years of age are invited to perform a song to a live audience. Young music lovers can register online to perform at https://www.facebook.com/events/3668934923171454 or just come along and check out some of the best local young talent.
2pm – 3.30pm Moreton Bay Big Band will share their songs and sounds with us!
3.30pm – 5pm Arts, Culture and Wellbeing panel discussion
Join a panel of inspiring artists and artworkers for a lively discussion on the transformative impact of visual art, singing, instrumental music, theatre and dance in local communities.

All Day Exhibitions at the Caboolture Regional Gallery
MANGGAN – gather, gathers, gathering

FIRST
