During December and January, the Caboolture Hub will be transformed into Colourtopia – a world of colour, art and creativity
- Immerse yourself in the colourful landscapes and portraits on display at Caboolture Regional Gallery
- Be part of the Colourtopia Creators workshops
- Discover the creative installations throughout the building
- Take part in creative arts activities being run in the Hub Gallery
- Sign up for the Colourtopia Summer Studio Workshops
Colourtopia Installations
Through out January you will be able to discover the Colourtopia creative installations through out the Caboolture Hub that have been created by local artist Mel Brady and members of the local community.
Make sure you pick up your free Colourtopia Activity Sheet – explore the artworks and installations, answer the questions take part in activities and go in the draw to win a prize!
Colourtopia Creative Activities
Explore your own creative side with the free, fun, in art activities in frottage, collage and stamping or contribute to the shared artwork in the Hub Gallery

Wednesday 8 January | Colourful Cityscape | Use a selection of city images and use colour to re-imagine the scene in a landscape painting under the guidance of artist David Fenoglio. Learn the principles and methods of drawing and painting from observation. Ages 8+ |
Friday 10 January | Soft Sculpture Houses | Come create a soft sculpture house in this hands-on workshop with Marian Reginato. Learn basic soft sculpture construction, hand sewing and embroidery techniques. Ages 8+ (includes needlework) |
Wednesday 15 January | Toy Portrait | Bring your favourite toy with you and paint its portrait under the guidance of artist David Fenoglio. Learn the principles and methods of drawing and painting from observation. Ages 8+ |
Friday 17 January | Mini Watercolour Landscape | Learn basic techniques to create your own special landscape with Ruth Ellington. Be inspired by John Rigby’s beautiful landscapes and fill yours with vibrant colour. Ages 8+ |
Wednesday 22 January | Funny still life | Use a range of objects to create an amusing still life scene then paint it under the guidance of artist David Fenoglio. Learn the principles and methods of drawing and painting from observation. Ages 8+ |
Friday 24 January | Party in a box! | Join craft queen Mel Brady in a fun-filled workshop. Create a party in a box to share with a friend, using cute and colourful handmade art. A great way to finish up the holidays. Ages 8+ |
Wednesday 29 January | Fantastic costumes | Let your imagination run wild and create your own amazing, one-of-a-kind costume with Mel Brady. All materials supplied. Under 5s |
Friday 31 January | Wild collage | Create a unique and vibrant artwork with Mel Brady. Bring along your own special photos and paper keepsakes or use the supplied magazines, paper scraps and pictures. Under 5s |
